Analysis of Marxism and Feminism in a literary work The literary element of Marxist feminism focuses on the idea in which women are oppressed through capitalism and private property. Starting from the Harlem Renaissance the Hurston’s work focuses on issues presenting on the turmoil of African-Americans from American literature in the nineteenth century on. Zora Neal Hurston’s work entitled â€Å"Sweat† is a prime example of how culture is affected by its cultures standards of economic â€Å"base†. The story was published in 1926 during a time of trial and error considering the obstacles that faced many female authors at the time. Hurston’s story â€Å"Sweat† overlaps with her novel â€Å"Their Eyes are Watching God† which also supports the idea that culture†¦show more content†¦Hurston deliberately labels Sykes as the patriarchal male head of the household. In a typical household a man is labeled as â€Å"strong†, â€Å"protective, and â€Å"decisive† one in the family while a woman is typically â€Å"Emotional†, â€Å"motherly†, and â€Å"submissive† (Hurston 85). Sykes physical and emotional abuse can be seen as an outlet to remain a part of the patriarchal rule in which a man subsides and as an outlet to enforce gender rules within the household. An example of his verbal abuse is â€Å"Well you better quit gettin’ me riled up, else they’ll be tottin you out sooner than you expect. Ah’m so tired of you Ah don’t know whut to do! Gawd! How ah hates skinny women!† (Hurston 2). Sykes seems to have no sense of empathy for Delia and continues to physically and emotionally abuse her through violence. He frightens her terribly, condemns her, and doesn’t give one penny to the family. His only concern is keeping her emotionally and physically hurt as he knows that as a woman she is vulnerable. Also in her work â€Å"Their Eyes Were Watching God the author portrays several examples of feminism and gender roles that are similar to â€Å"Sweat†. Woman are additionally considered the â€Å"weaker sex†. Woman can only gain

In addition to lobbying and petitioning, women’s suffragists also used parades during the movement as another popular tactic in the hope of gaining the attention of Congress. First of all, Paul popularized Christianity among Gentiles who did not have a monotheistic religion at that time (Ehrman 137). This is one of his major achievements. It should be mentioned that Paul did not emphasize the glory or happiness of believing in Jesus. More likely, he argued that Christians had to face hardships and struggle with injust ice. To some degree, the early followers of Jesus had to imitate his fate (Ehrman 137). This was the major distinctions of Paul’s rhetoric. This preaching attracted attention to Christianity because it differed from other religious cults that focused mostly on wellbeing of a person. Moreover, while preaching, Paul did not attach importance to the miracles that he performed. Instead, he focused on his limitations or suffering that he had undergone in the past (Ehrman 137). Again, this rhetoric strategy helped him gain the trust of many people, especially Gentiles. This is one of the main aspects that can be identified.  One can also say that Paul’s missionary activities transformed Christianity sectarian Jewish movement into a religion that transcended the borders of different states (Ehrman 122). He did perceive Christianity as a movement that could be accessed only by the practitioners of Judaism (Ehrman 122). Such a view of Christianity was not acceptable to him. I n other words, he emphasized the idea that the teaching of Jesus Christ was an including, rather that excluding religion (Ehrman 122). So, he made Christianity more appealing to others. This is why his contributions cannot be overlooked by people who study the history of this religion. His missionary activities were vital for promoting the spread of the early Christianity in the ancient world. This is why his achievements are important for understanding the growth of this religious movement at its early stages. Certainly, one should not overlook the role played by other followers. For example, it is possible to speak about Peter who also stressed the need to evangelize the Gentiles (Ehrman 122), However, it was Paul who managed to win the loyalty of these people. Additionally, historians should not forget about the activities of many disciples have not been examined sufficiently.Advertising Looking for essay on religion theology? Let's see if we can help you! This is one of the main arguments that can be put forward. It is also vital to speak about the story of Mary Magdalene because it suggests that the early Christianity could empower women. More importantly, this narrative suggests that the followers of Jesus could enter into conflict with one another. This is why her narrative should be taken into consideration. In particular, the resurrected Jesus first appeared to Mary, rather than other disciples. This detail is confirmed in various Gospels. To a great extent, this example indicates that Jesus singled her out among other followers. This is one of the reasons why her story is important for contemporary historians. Moreover, one should take into account that other disciples were surprised or even angered by th e fact that Jesus chose to speak with Mary in private (Ehrman 245). Moreover, the apostles even asked Jesus whether they should obey Mary (Ehrman 245). On the whole, Mary’s story is significant because it indicates that historians do not know much about the role that this woman could have played. Moreover, she is not mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles. This is one of the reasons the story of Mary Magdalene is significant. This case indicates that the narratives presented in the New Testament include a great number of issues that have not been fully understood by historians.  On the whole, this discussion suggests that various people could have contributed to the early spread of Christianity. The role that was played by some of them has not been fully examined by modern theologians and historians. This argument is particularly relevant if one speaks about Mary Magdalene. It is possible to argue that Paul facilitated the growth of Christianity. He made the teaching of Jesu s Christ popular among other those people who did not practice a monotheistic tradition. Moreover, his rhetoric attracted the attention of many Gentiles. This is why his importance should not be disregarded. He was one of those people who transformed Christianity into a global religion. Certainly, in the ancient world, Christianity was not one of the most influential religious movements in the world. Nevertheless, Paul laid the foundations of the missionary movement. This is the main point that can be made.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Peter, Paul, and Mary Magdalene Contribution to the Christianity Spread specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Works Cited Ehrman, Bart. Also, to give details and find the purpose of the lean and typical production process and how they both vary differently. Lastly, give Dr. White some information and a proposal on how to prepare for a decreased budget. MANAGING COST Introduction In our ever changing business world, each organization must find ways to make tight budgets work. Management are always facing ways to increase the bottom line and find innovated ways to meet budget guidelines. Dr. White is faced with the decision to decrease the budget by $94,000. Recommendation will be listed below as to how Dr. White might proceed to cut the organization’s budget. Managerial Accounting Many organizations have managers that run the day to day operation. In order for the company to be successful in its practices there must be accountability. One way to hold accountability is to have accounting. Managerial accounting is an effective way to provide data to the managers that oversees the companies productivity. Many managers provide planning, control operation, and find ways to keep overhead at a minimum. Techniques can be used in the planning process as well, and that is to also help control the budgeting. It is very vital to have the data delivered for the cost accounting to make sure that it is accurate and suitable for the management process. The data analysis can be used in many different aspects, and that may vary; some of those ways may be direct costing, investment budgeting, discrepancy of the analysis and much more. When it comes to the lean production it is a process that is wasteful and excluding any inefficent or added behaviors within the process, and that can sometimes decrease the cost and boost the production cost. Another thing, when it comes to the lean production is that it may consist of a multi-dimensional method that may contain a range of management routines, including quality, work teams, and also incorporated systems. There are many things that will not be done perfect, but when an objective takes place, it is a good time to try to succed that goal. When this happens it will benefit excellent quality, goods and services at a small cost, and this will help shift lower pricing. This would help benefit not just the consumer, but also the organization when it comes to the marketing strategy and the competition. When an individual has to dispose of food, because it has not been eaten that is very wasteful. This information when it comes to the lean production is decrease the magnitude of any resources that are used. Variable Costing Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Variable Costing - Essay Example Product cost versus period cost Also known as inventorial costs, product costs are all those costs that are used in the acquisition and production of a product. They include direct labor costs, cost of direct materials and the manufacturing expenditure (Maher et, al 2006). They are normally assigned to an inventory account in the balance sheets and released from the stock as expenditure. Period costs are all the omissions in the product cost normally expensed on the income statement or report in the time of occurrence for example the office rent, administrative expenses and commissions on sale, which are expensed on the income statement during such periods of occurrence (Maher et, al 2006). ... The fixed manufacturing expenditure is incurred with the hope that the capital represented by these costs will be consumed in the manufacture of stock. Therefore these costs should correspond or rather be matched against the income attributed to the sale of such stock. Absorption cost needs the computation of expenditure rate for applying all the production expenses to the units that are produced during that period or else twin expenditure rates for variable manufacturing and fixed manufacturing overheads or multiple overhead rates in case the company uses the activity based costing (Hansen, et, al 2006). In variable costing, the validation is that the fixed manufacturing overhead shall be incurred in the short (er) term with no emphasis of the quantity of inventory that is produced. Even if the firm is not operating, a large portion of the fixed manufacturing overhead cannot be avoided in the short run hence the treatment of fixed manufacturing overhead as a period expanse. Though c onfusing in the sense that it implies only the direct manufacturing costs are capitalized, the fact is that the variable manufacturing overhead is also capitalized in equal measure. The name is far much less than ideal because not every variable cost is capitalized as the non manufacturing costs do not get to be capitalized as a portion of the stock or inventory in any circumstance. Usually, in variable costing, the cost of the ending stock is consisting of both the variable manufacturing overhead as well as the cost of direct manufacturing which is the materials and labor. Therefore, these are the costs for which the variable costing correspond the matching principle and as part of the inventory/stock, no other thing is
